W00t! I made it all the way through National Blog Posting Month--30 posts over 30 days, ranging from reviews to meta to fic. I didn't think I could manage to write that much, even if several of the entries were short, but I did. I don't think I'll be able to keep up that pace in the future, but now that I know I can do it, hopefully it will inspire me to increase my writing output. Now, on to today's fic...

Summary: Ash is uneasy about returning to his childhood home when he escorts his half-sister back to the farm for the summer.

I had already planned to write this story before portus_envy (also unofficially terminus_envy, and soon to be hpcon_envy) was created, but in honor of the comm, I threw in references to Lupin attending an anime convention, and Snape a Potions symposium! ^_^

Author's note 1: For readers who are unfamiliar with the previous stories or the Japanese concept of love hotels, they are places where rooms are rented out, hourly or for the night, specifically as a place for couples to go and have sex.

Here are a couple of the side stories I've been promising, companion pieces to "Fathers' Day" and "Scars". The first is a Snupin, and the other features Tsubasa and his parents. Since Snape and Lupin don't appear in the second piece but it's still part of the Always series, I'm posting them together so that I can promote this on lupin_snape without violating the community rules.

And somehow that turned into a plot bunny! ^_^

Hey everybody, go check out the awesome artwork that </a></strong></a>karasu_hime made for me for the Trading Places challenge! One piece is the full moon scene from Summer Vacation, where Lupin and the Japanese werewolves and kitsune (fox-spirits) change into their animal forms while Snape watches. The boy is Naoki, an OC, the grandson of Snape's Japanese host, and he looks so cute here that I want to write a new story centered around him, although he was just a minor character that I never really intended to bring back again. I love how his face looks a little foxish, since he's half-kitsune, although he can't change into a fox-shape like the other members of his family. He and Snape were feeling just a little bit left out in the beginning of this scene, being the only two humans watching all the canines frolic. ^_^ Love the cute little black wolf/fox cub, Miyako, too!

The second piece is a collage of scenes from my Always series--mostly from the first story "Always," from which the series takes its name; Summer Vacation is the second story in the series. It's so great, it's like seeing an overview of the history of their relationship! And in the bottom right corner are the two little wolf-figurines that Miyako made for them in Summer Vacation--they're supposed to represent Snape and Lupin, of course, and they have the red cord tying them together. (If you haven't read the story, it's in reference to a Japanese legend that people destined to be lovers are bound together by a red cord--this theme also shows up in the anime series Kimagure Orange Road, which is where I first heard of it.)

Even if you haven't read my stories, you should still go check out the pictures just to appreciate the beautiful artwork that Karasu did--I'm sure any Snupin fan will enjoy them. And as an added bonus, you get to see Snape in a kimono in the first piece!

Author's notes: Originally, this was going to be a stand-alone story, but I decided instead to make it a "missing scene" from Scars, a long story in my ongoing Always series, since I never covered Valentine's Day in that story. However, I've written it so that you don't need to have read Scars in order to follow it. All you need to know is that Lupin and Snape are in an established relationship, and are living together post-war at Hogwarts.

Summary: Written for the Valentine's Day party at </a></strong></a>snapedom; prompt: chocolate. Remus prepares a special Valentine's treat for Severus, but things go awry...
